update december 14, 2022
Miasma is officially open and accepting character applications! Our community will remain closed for now, but we plan to open up invitations to other writers in a few weeks. With this decision, however, keep in mind that things here will be extremely slow plot-wise. Have patience for your fellow writers and enjoy your time with each other. Aside from that, a few other notes we'd like to address are outlined in our Discord announcements.
update july 10, 2022
Everything with Miasma is just now coming together. Stay tuned for more news updates, changes, additions, and for the rp to start!
update july 08, 2022
Work on Miasma has only recently started with the setup on a host and configuring myBB. The process may take a while but hopefully we are able to rp on these boards soon. In the meantime you are still able to write on the jcink boards. If you are stumbling upon this page, welcome! Please check out our discord.

The days grow longer, and the sun's rays intensify, casting a warm and golden glow upon the landscape. Nature is in its full bloom, with a symphony of colors painting the valley in a tapestry of beauty. The abundance of life provides inhabitants with ample hunting grounds to hone their skills and provide for their friends and family.

It was only under the cover of darkness that the dust-covered wolf ventured into the world outside the caves. Hunger drove her to seek something more substantial than barely-sprouted greenery and the odd mouse. This time of year, the roaches, spiders, reptiles and amphibians weren't anywhere to be found to tide Ferus over until better weather revealed itself.

Out into the cold they trekked, then, snowfall gradually hiding the delicate ochre tones of her fur as her eyes fluttered across her mountainside. It was beautiful in the winter, refracted light bouncing off the snow and ice and lighting the entire place up. Ferus preferred the safety of the caves, but took a long moment once they had stretched some of the tension out of her shoulders to simply stand and bear witness to the world.

With their appreciation for mother nature out of the way, Ferus set dutifully upon fulfilling her role in that cycle of life. She set her nose to the snow, inhaling deep. It took a few breaths for the clean alpine air to clear the scents of the caverns from her nostrils, but Feru was patient.

Mountains had always been Naga's home. Sadly, like a hermit however, she found herself often drifting away from the main hall of Hellmaw. She did not stray far, but it was enough to give her a taste of freedom from a life under her mothers reign. She hadn't known much, she had been young and dumb. She didn't understand the rulings of her mother but now she did.

Nima has been a fair ruler, although her father would say otherwise with the scar on his face. Naga would just say they weren't right for each other. Toxicity at it's finest. Naga did not understand why her father turned his nose up at Kopec, nor had she understood her feelings when they'd lost Tychus to the mountains. Nima though, she was resilient, strong. She was the Empress that inspired but her dreams had never come into fruition.

A year on, having reached adulthood, Naga found herself seeking her own purpose. With the sun settling low in the snowy peaks, the she-wolf found herself stretching out her her physique and walking with the grace her mother had once held. Her legs were long and tread lightly, while she carried her head high with a slight sway to her hips. No more hunching, and no more hiding. The fox-eyed serpent found herself observing the world with new eyes, keener sight.

And a new hunger.

Marmot scent filled Ferus' nose, and her tail gave a satisfied swish as she trod in the direction of the delicious morsel. Marmots made for good meals, plenty of fat packed around their bones and organs that made them a pain to kill but a filling and hearty meal. Goats and Dall sheep also called the mountainside home but Ferus didn't often hunt those, especially at this time of year. In the spring, when they were lambing, a feast would be hers. For now, she had to bide her time.

The only smell that filled their nose was that of their prey, blissfully unaware of yet another intruder on her mountain. Ferus crouched as they crept, zeroing in on the marmot foolish enough to venture out of its den at this time of year. Even in the darkness it was a black spot against the snow. Digging, digging, digging...It must not have stocked enough or eaten enough in the fall for the winter.

Good. She continued to stalk the rodent, only pausing when it lifted its head and stood on its hind legs to look around. A stone jutting up from the mountainside helped to cut through her wolf's silhouette and disguise her, and Ferus waited patiently for her quarry to lower its gaurd.
